Sneheil Saxena

Hi, I'm Sneheil! I'm a graduate student at the University of California, Irvine.

Previously, I worked at Qualcomm in their XR Research Division after graduating from UC San Diego with a bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Computer Science.

My research interests span the areas of machine learning, optimization, and statistical signal processing.

My work experience involves implementing controller-free handtracking, power & bandwidth profiling, web development, and automated testing.

I also love songwriting, audio engineering, and playing as many instruments as I can.

Work Experience
XR Research Engineer, Qualcomm

Designed and implemented a Python utility to parse function execution metadata to calculate average power consumption of 6DoF features on Qualcomm chipsets for XR (AR/VR) devices

Utilized Computer Vision & Machine Learning techniques to implement enhancements to Python data processing pipeline used to improving hand tracking functionality for VR/AR headsets - used depth estimation techniques, model fitting & parameter optimization while working with point clouds & 3d meshes

Analyzed power data for a point cloud-to-depth algorithm comparing power consumption across different modes - single thread vs multithreaded, low performance vs high performance mode on Qualcomm chipset

Software Engineering Intern, Housecall Pro

Implemented design enhancements to the website template for home service businesses as part of the "Website Builder" team with React & Material UI and re- factored existing components

Created server endpoints to perform CRUD actions in Ruby on Rails and implemented functional tests with RSpec

Software Test Intern, Reliance Jio Infocomm

Developed & implemented extensive black-box test suite for the KaiOS operating system on Jio Phone using Python scripts via an automated test framework

Collaborated with an offshore QA team, collecting feedback on generated reports

Extracurriculars
Sponsorship Lead, Triton Engineering Student Council, UC San Diego

I served as the Sponsorship Lead for the Triton Engineering Student Council (TESC), a non-profit student-run organization under the Jacobs School of Engineering at UC San Diego during 2019-2020.

My work involved raising funds through company sponsorships for a large variety of events that TESC hosts, including SD Hacks, Espresso (a startup career fair), and Decaf (a STEM career fair).

The funds raised went towards supporting over 40 student engineering organizations on campus.
